Features
Everything that lives inside a LumenBoard tutoring room.
A shared whiteboard, live video, recordings, and AI lesson notes — all in one persistent room. Built for solo tutors and the tutoring centers that run them.
Every feature below is in the product today. Each card says which plan it’s on — see pricing for the full breakdown. What we haven’t built yet is in Coming soon.
All in one room
The first tutoring classroom with everything in one room.
A video call here, a whiteboard there, a Drive folder, a separate note-taker. Everywhere else, teaching one student means four tools and six tabs. LumenBoard puts all of it in a single room that stays put between sessions.
A whiteboard that thinks like a teacher.
Drop in a short PDF — a page or two of a worksheet — and write straight on top of it. Drag in an image. Add a math equation that renders properly: fractions, radicals, the works. Flip between pages without losing context. Two cursors, real time, no lag.
Multi-page board
Flip between pages — nothing erased
A real math tool
Equations rendered properly, not photos
Live video + screen share
Camera, mic, and screen, in the room
Records itself
Board + audio, every session over 25 min (Tutor & up)
Inside the room
The classroom bits nobody thinks about until they’re missing.
A tutoring room isn’t a video call with a whiteboard bolted on. These are the parts that make it feel like a room you teach in — and they’re on every plan, including free.
- All plans
Knock to enter
Nobody walks into your room. Students knock and wait; you get a live queue and admit or deny each one. Enforced on the server, not just in the UI — an unadmitted guest gets no video token and no board.
- All plans
Screen sharing
Share your screen for a website, a slide deck, or a document you didn't put on the board. It spotlights for everyone in the room.
Recordings capture the whiteboard and audio — a shared screen is live-only.
- All plans
Chat that speaks math
Type $x^2$ or $$\sum$$ in the chat and it renders as real math instead of ASCII soup. Messages stay with the room between sessions.
- All plans
Pages, not one endless canvas
Start a fresh page mid-lesson, rename it, delete one you don't need. Everyone in the room follows the same page — no "which one are you looking at?"
- All plans
Works on whatever they bring
Phone, tablet, or laptop each get a layout built for them — full-bleed board and a draggable video tile on touch, a resizable rail on desktop. The roster shows who's on what.
- All plans
Guests can join, then keep it
A student can join from the room link without an account. If they want their notes and replays kept, they make one — and everything from that session comes with them.
- A pre-join lobby to check camera and mic
- An in-room guided tour, replayable any time
- A written tutorial for educators
- Empty rooms close themselves after five idle minutes
One URL per student. Forever.
Pair a tutor and a student once. The room they get is the room they keep. Same link tomorrow, next month, next year — and every session before this one is still in there.
Free plans keep two rooms open at a time. Every paid plan is unlimited.

Today
AI & recordings · now live
Every lesson becomes notes you can actually use.
On a paid plan, LumenBoard records the whiteboard and audio of every real session automatically. The AI layer on top — transcripts, lesson notes, ask-the-recording — is Tutor Pro and up, and it’s opt-in: students switch it on per room and parents per child, independently.
Captured automatically
On every session — no setup.
- Tutor & up
Session recordings
Every lesson over 25 minutes records automatically — the whiteboard and audio, not the camera grid. Students rewatch before a test; you review your own teaching.
Kept 30 days on Tutor, a full year on Tutor Pro and org plans.
- All plans
Whiteboard PDF export
Download any board — every page, in order — as a clean PDF. From inside the room or from a replay, ready to send or print.
AI — students & parents turn it on
Off by default; their choice, not the teacher's. Every org seat is full Pro.
- Tutor Pro
Timestamped transcripts
Every word of the lesson, timestamped — click a line to jump straight to that moment, or download the whole thing as a text file.
- Tutor Pro
AI lesson notes
A clean summary, the topics covered, what the student got, and what to work on next — written after each class for whoever turned them on.
- Tutor Pro
Ask the recording
Students can ask a question about a past session and get an answer grounded in what was actually said, with timestamps. If it didn't come up, it says so.
- Tutor Pro
Searchable notes
Students search across every session's notes to find a topic in seconds — straight from their dashboard.
For students & parents
The people you teach get their own way in.
Students and parents aren’t an afterthought on someone else’s account — they each get a real dashboard, and they decide what AI does with their lessons.
- Tutor Pro
A study chatbot that only knows their lessons
Students get their own tutor-shaped chatbot that answers from every lesson they've had — not the open internet — and points back to the session an answer came from.
- Tutor Pro
Parent recaps, in the parent's own dashboard
A parent who opts in reads a plain-language recap of each session: what was covered, what went well, what needs practice. No jargon, no lesson transcript to wade through.
Recaps live in the parent's account — nothing is emailed out and no public link exists.
- Tutor Pro
A progress page that writes itself
Every session's notes roll up into one view: what keeps needing practice, what got better, the to-dos from recent lessons, and what each session covered. Parents see the same page per child.
- Tutor Pro
The board, kept with the notes
Each session's notes end with every page of the whiteboard from that day — so "look back if you missed something" includes what was written, not just what was said.
- Tutor Pro
The switch belongs to them
Students turn AI notes on per room; parents turn them on per child. Independently, off by default, and never by the teacher — who only ever gets a read-only copy.
For tutoring centers & agencies
Run every educator’s classroom from one dashboard.
The visibility you don’t get from a shared Zoom link. Every educator gets their own rooms; you get one place to see what the whole team is teaching. Every org band includes all of it.
- Org plans
Add educators directly
No invite links to send or chase. You add a tutor and they're in, with their own seat already on the org's plan.
- Org plans
The whole team, one dashboard
Hours taught, sessions run, students seen, and active rooms per educator — plus a monthly roll-up for the org and a calendar of every session your tutors taught.
- Org plans
Drill into any educator
Open one tutor's view to watch their session recordings for a quality check — or drop into any of their rooms yourself when you need to cover a class.
- Org plans
A shared file library
Upload worksheets, answer keys, and reference material once. Every educator on your team has them.
- Org plans
Every seat is full Pro
No tiering your own tutors. On an org plan each educator gets AI notes, small groups up to six, and a year of recording retention — nobody on the team gets a worse room.
- Org plans
One flat price per band
Pick the band that fits your team — up to 5, 20, or 50 educators. Adding a tutor inside your band doesn't change the bill.
- Org plans
Your logo, where families see it
Upload it once. It shows across your workspace, on every educator's dashboard, and on the way into any room your team runs — the name card, the device check, and the knock screen.
- Org plans
A square mark for inside the class
Add a square version and it takes over where a wordmark can't fit: the corner of the classroom itself, the room's browser tab, and the header of your students' notes and progress pages.
